As the writer of a snarky blog, I thought I knew what mockery and sarcasm meant. You've taught me I have so far to go. My thanks good sir.

I also found this through SCL - thanks for verifying that I never need to read these books. I read the Amazon Kindle free preview for Twilight and thought that perhaps I had gotten the wrong book. It was so terribly written that I honestly thought I had picked up fan-fiction by mistake somehow. Thank God I never made it to imprinting! Thanks for your help.

Really, narcissism is the ONLY word. Suddenly a teen with the mental capacity of a... teen is transformed into this amazing self-control wizard (witch?)

Dear Mateo,

Bravo! I found a link to your blog on Stuff Christians Like, and managed to read the whole thing in three days. I just want to thank you for so charmingly summarizing the Twilight series for me. After reading the first one in middle school, I knew that I never wanted to read another word of Stephanie Meyer's, yet I still sort of wanted to know how it all turned out, seeing as so many girls I knew were enamored with it. You have allowed me to do just that while sparing me the pain. Thank you.

Hey, just letting you know I've been reading your posts on Twilight and thoroughly enjoying them. Twilight is weird, I know just how badly written and implausible it is, but I haven't gotten around to despising them yet. I did despise the main characters pretty early on, though. You are so right about SM's idea of character development being to see just how much of a jerk the person can make themselves this time. Oh well. As soon as I finish Breaking Dawn I'm gonna go back and read LOTR over again. Just to remind myself what real writing is.

I feel like the new kid commenter. Thank you for the synopsis. I feel like I learned more about what not to do in a novel than any class I took in college, not to mention laughed out loud so much that the people that work around me now think Im nuts!

I was directed over here today by a link on the Stuff Christians Like site on a post regarding the current vampire obsession. I enjoyed the books for the break from reality it was, but in reading all of your posts on the series may have killed the books for me. And I thank you. My family was highly annoyed at my laughter throughout the day, but it was worth it. =)
